Exfolikate to the Rescue

Today I had a patient with blackheads so pronounced that I had to resist the overwhelming urge to run to the drugstore and get her a Biore pore strip on my break.  Ugh!  It drove me crazy that I couldn’t get rid of them, my fellow skin pickers out there know what I’m talking about.

Anyway, when I got home I had to reach for my favorite facial exfoliator, Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment.  Yes, it’s a little pricy at $85 but it’s completely worth every penny.  Seriously, go to Sephora and ask for a little sample – try it and you’ll be hooked.  I’ve done an Exfolikate Review before but for some reason I haven’t reach for this product in a while.  Not because I don’t love it because I do, it ranks very high on my list of skin care favorites.  It’s got the perfect amount of grit without being overbearing or too rough.  I wet my skin, apply the product and rub it around gently on my skin then let it sit for like a minute or so.  The product starts to heat up a little bit on my skin and then I rinse it away, all I’m left with is noticeably smoother softer skin. ExfoliKate is a chemical and manual exfoliating product, so it’s really a one-two punch for dry, congested skin.  The chemical part isn’t scary chemicals that are super strong, it’s just fruit enzymes and the manual part isn’t really rough.  Afterwards, my sensitive skin has a little bit of a pink flush but it’s not irritated at all and it quickly goes back to normal.
