If you use Pinterest and have ever had a cold, I’m sure you’ve looked for home remedies for a cold. I did just that and found a pin for a detox bath, so I figured, can’t hurt. I gathered up the ground ginger, baking soda and epsom salt proceeded to dump it all in my bath tub, grabbed a bottle of water to drink, and filled the tub with the hottest water I could stand. I sat in there for the full 40 minutes that was recommend and guess what? Nothing happened, it was supposed to make me hot and help me sweat out the cold. It didn’t work, at all! Maybe I should have used fresh ginger instead of ground ginger but that was all I had on hand and the recipe said it would okay. So I had a detox bath fail! That was definitely a Pin-Miss! Not only did nothing happen, like at all, the ginger didn’t dissolve like I thought it would it, it turned to water a strange mustard like color and just generally robbed me of a relaxing bath time experience. So let me tell you, if you were thinking of trying out this detox bath – skip it!
