Now you can customize your foundation with products that are pretty much concentrated foundation pigments with a dropper. So you can unleash your inner artist and start mixing away! Personally, I think the idea is genius and I’m wondering why it took so long for something like this to come around. Take your favorite moisturizer and then add just a few drops for minimal coverage or a lot of drops for total coverage.
While on a Sephora run I spotted Ardency Inn Custom Coverage Concentrate – ($38.00 for 0.5oz) a while back but unfortunately the shades available did not match my skin tone perfectly so I did not purchase it. But I did give it a test run on my hands and I was impressed with the way the concentrate felt on my skin, it smoothed on easily and mixed seamlessly with the moisturizer I picked up to mix it with. It comes in 10 shades and should be mixed with a water based moisturizer.
Cover FX Custom Cover Drops – ($44.00 for 0.5oz) is another great option if you want to try custom foundation that you can mix up yourself. This comes in 24 shades, so you are more likely to find your exact match with Cover FX. The plus side of the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops is that you can use any product you want, it does not have to be water based. So that means you can mix it into a silicon based product or a facial oil, you have no limits!
Felicia over at ThisThatBeauty.com used the Custom FX Custom Cover Drops exactly how I would have with my holy grail skin care product as well as with an oil. Check out her full review of Cover FX Custom Cover Drops here.
